A marvellous party was held at London's Park Lane Hotel when the Red Hot Aids Charitable Trust held a gala fundraising evening featuring the songs of quintessentially English composer Noel Coward. Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant co-produced the Twentieth Century Blues show and the album of the same name which will be released on April 13.

The revue was held in the Park Lane's Twenties art deco ballroom, but featured contemporary artists. Robbie Williams sang "There are Bad Times Just Around The Corner", Sting sang the romantic "I'll Follow My Secret Heart", soul diva Shola Ama sang "Someday I'll Find You", and the final song, "Twentieth Century Blues" was performed by Elton John. There were also readings by Sir Nigel Hawthorne, Ned Sherrin, Martin Jarvis and Andrew Lincoln from BBC2's This Life. Famous faces in the specially invited audience of 350 included Zoe Ball, Zandra Rhodes, Boy George and Kylie Minogue. They enjoyed a champagne reception and a geniuine Twenties menu taken from the Park Lane's archive. Proceeds from the compilation, the gala revue and sale of the television special will go to the charity which distributes funds to front-line community-based HIV and AIDS prevention projects around the world.
